Growing up, my first passion was drawing. It started with cartoon and comic characters and progressed to realistic and detailed drawings of the human form. My first paying gigs were portrait drawings in high school.
Around the same time, I also developed a passion for video games. I was always intrigued with what it takes to make a game. My first legitimate job was working for a video game store. This got me familiar with the consumer side of the game industry and retail level marketing. I even did a commercial for the game store.
Soon after I made the jump to the development side of games, working for Sega starting in 1996. I climbed the ladder to management and learned valuable skills along the way such as project management, problem solving, team leadership, and knowing every role is vital to a project’s success.
Once the Internet exploded, I was able to incorporate my art skills into the new digital age. Combined with my acquired programming skills, I was able to create any type of digital marketing materials needed whether it be websites, digital images, print materials, and games. Over the years, I found that web-based games used as marketing tools have been the most engaging projects for consumers, often times leading to increased return visits to websites beyond expectations. My game for Sonic Boom reached 400,000 plays within the first 2 weeks. All my games were built from the ground up solely by me.
It’s not just making games that I love, I also enjoy everything from creating interactive websites designed to engage consumers to the creation of banners and marketing images and materials. I’m always looking for the next great opportunity to utilize my talents and experience on amazing and interesting projects. Please check out my work and don’t let the heavy presence of video game content fool you, I love to work on all types of projects!
